Baby Shower

My mom and friend Kelly were sweet enough to host a baby shower for me the weekend before last. It was so great! They did an amazing job and made me feel so special. They had wonderful snacks, decorations, a huge cake and just overall threw a great little party! I am not sure how I will ever thank them enough!!

Also, thank you to everyone that came!! It was so nice to see everyone and for all of us to celebrate together. I got some amazing gifts and I appreciate each and every one so much!!

My friends, Kelly on the left and Amy on the right. Kelly used to work at CWU and moved a year or so ago...sad!! But we get together often, so that is great! Amy works at CWU with me and she is due on Christmas! It has been great being pregnant together, however, when we get together at work everyone snickers at the two pregnant gals...lol..oh well!
Sorry Amy, I had to post this...lol. Everybody has been dying for a belly-to-belly shot!
My Aunt Debby made the trip from Tacoma. It was so great she came!
My dad! He was the only guy there, but I think it is a rule as Grandpa he had to be there! He was pretty bummed when Mike high-tailed it out of the house to go to the bar to have a beer and a burger...I think I saw him shed a tear. But he was a trooper!
Ok, sad moment, but meant so much to me I had to share. My Grandma (my mom's mom) was an amazing lady and she meant the WORLD to me. She passed away 4 years ago, right after Mike and I got married, from breast cancer and I miss her terribly. Anyway, before she passed she had my great aunt crochet this quilt as she was too ill to do it herself. She new she wouldn't be here when I got pregnant and started a family. So she gave it to my mom a couple months before she died and asked mom to hold on to it and give it to me when I got pregnant. My mom has had it in her closet for 4 years.

Me opening the present after most people had left, not knowing yet the story behind the blanket.
Hugs and tears after Mom explained it to me.
My mom and I holding one of the only connections my son will have with his great grandma. I can't believe she thought of doing this. Speaks volumes of how great of a lady she was.
Ok, enough sad stuff, let's get back to fun party moments!!

So glad to have such a great friend! Thanks for the shower Kelly!
You too mom!
Awe, Grandma and Grandpa!
Mike got back in time just to see a few of the party-goers before they left...oh, and also to steal a piece of cake!
Overall it was a great weekend. Lots of great family and friends celebrating the impending arrival of baby Holliday!!

P.S. Stay tuned for a Part II Baby Shower post. I am waiting on a few more pics that include the cake, opening presents and everyone else that came!

  1. Super sweet about the blanket! What a planner your grandma was. Completely thoughtful. Looks like a great time and I'm sorry I missed it!
