Kitchen update

I know it has been really long since I posted any pics of the kitchen. But we will work on something and want to wait until it is done to take pictures...and we did this over and over again. We have to grout the countertops and backsplash. We also need to do the shelves and drawers for the island, but I think the major things are done. YAY!

We love the new island. There is so much more counter space and storage. I am so impressed with Mike, he built the entire island! We have been super busy doing all the tiling and cabinetry work. There will be slide out shelves on both sides.

A close look at the countertops and backsplash. The electrical outlet covers are copper and look really cool. We will also use some of the cedar from the old closet that was there to cover the outside of the island.

We are definitely on the downhill slide as far as the kitchen goes. Most everything is still in storage, only the necesseties are out until we grout (coffee pot, toaster, doggie treat jar!). I can't wait until we are done and for the first time in a year have everything in the kitchen!

Not to toot our own horns, but it looks awesome and the pictures don't do it justice (toot - toot!!). We have done everything ourselves. It has really opened up the entire house and we love it!! Feel free to come visit!!! :):)
