Walls are coming down!

I know I haven't posted much in a while, but this one will explain why! Mike has been working very hard the last few weeks installing our new heat pump and moving the water heater and furnace from inside the house, out to the carport.

The closet below had the water heater and furnace in it. We are in the process of knocking it down and putting a kitchen island in, to open up the kitchen to the living room.

This weekend was interesting. We didn't have running water the entire weekend...AHHH! Of course when Mike pulled the water heater out of the closet he noticed it was on its last leg and leaking pretty bad. So off to Lowes (we are loyal Home Depot people, but Lowes was having a sale) to a get a new one. I was so excited when he finally was able to turn on the water today! We were smelling pretty ripe! :)

I am so impressed with Mike and being able to do all this stuff. I was in charge of demolition once he moved things outside and I took my duties very seriously! That is one thing I can do, DEMO!

Here is the furnace, new heat pump and water heater that are in the carport.
Well, we are getting there. We will begin building the island pretty soon and then will install all new countertops throughout the kitchen. I can't wait to do the backsplash and get a little color in the kitchen!
In between all of this I have been working away in my vegetable garden. I also refinished and stained the kitchen table, I will post pictures of that once I finish varnishing.
