TIM-BER!

We used to have a beautiful Japanese Elm in our front yard, but a couple of years ago it died. With all the holes in it, it looks like some sort of bug got the best of it - or, we just killed it. Anyhoo, with the wind gusts we get in Ellensburg it was making me a little nervous! Plus, we are going to be putting in a fence this spring and figured now was the time to chop it down.

My logger - and yes, he is wearing flannel and suspenders.
I have to admit, it looks nicer to not have a dead tree in our front yard, but now there is NO privacy with the neighbors. I will be happy when we get the fence in. We have already gone to a nursery in town and are looking at fast growing trees to be able to plant on our side to help it be more private again. Also, it will be nice to have more trees so there is shade in the summer and also blocks the wind that comes from that direction!
Anybody have a use for a pile of sticks?!?! FREE! :)
