Last weekend I had a great group of gals come visit. For the last few years, every year, a bunch of us gals from Genesee get together. I have known these girls since we were born! It is so fun to see them, I just wish it was more than once a year!
This year was my turn to host, so they all decended upon Ellensburg! I sent Mike, Hunter and the dogs over to Puyallup to stay the weekend with my brother. Yup, kicked everyone out...lol. Of course I missed my boys and doggies, but it was really fun to have a weekend with just my girls!
I took Friday off and they all got in that afternoon. We spent the afternoon and evening drinking wine and just catching up. It was fabulous! Laughing so hard that our cheeks hurt! That evening we decided to head downtown to the bars. It has been a LONG time since I was out at the bars, let alone until 2 a.m. LOL! We had a great time, just sipping our drinks and people watching. With the college kids back in town the people-watching was at an all-time high.
Saturday morning we just lounged around, sipping coffee and chatting. Believe it or not, we weren't hungover. I guess we were all too busy chatting away Friday night to drink too much...lol. We decided to all get ready and head on up to Leavenworth for the afternoon. Just getting ready brought back so many memories from highschool. Music was blaring, we were sipping mimosas (didn't do that part in highschool, I promise), sharing curling irons and clothes and just talking away. I forgot how fun it was to hang with the girls, oh, and to get ready when a toddler isn't pulling on your leg or dumping baby powder all over the floor. It's the little things. Anyhoo, back to Leavenworth, we did a ton of shopping, managed to fit in some beers and wine tasting, and then shopped more. We got back to Ellensburg late that evening and once again stayed up till 2 a.m. just visiting. It was fabulous.
I had a great time, and I am pretty sure the other gals did too! I love this group of ladies. We don't see eachother all the time, but when we do, we pick up just where we left off. It was nice to have a little girl time too! Anyhoo, can't wait for next year - not sure where we are going, but there is no doubt we will have a great time!
We only took one photo all weekend - can you believe it? Me, not documenting every move! Didn't help that my camera battery was dead and I kept forgetting to charge it...
