Since July 21, 2007 we have had a baby, moved, bought a home, solely supported Home Depot while remodeling said home, picked up a corgi and just had a lot of fun in between! And those are just the highlights! Today we are fortunate to not only have a healthy little boy keeping us busy, but good jobs, a mostly-remodeled but beautiful home and two spoiled dogs.
The last six years have been great, but I won't lie, there have been some hard times too. Deaths, unemployment, etc. burdened our first few years together. But there was a silver lining - Mike and I got through these hard times together and anything that was thrown our way made us stronger. We are best friends, and at times I think we know each other better than we know ourselves.
I honestly can't wait to get home from work everyday to see my boys. I love telling Mike about my day, and hearing about his. I love talking about our plans for the weekend or just simply deciding on what to have for dinner. Add Hunter just randomly yelling out "NO" or "Melmo" (Elmo for you not versed in toddler-speak) and the dogs sitting patiently and waiting for him to drop some food and our evenings are perfect. I wouldn't trade my life for the world.

On Saturday we got a babysitter and went out for a night on the town to celebrate and we had a great time! We went to a movie (which I am pretty sure it has been a couple years since we did that), and then went out to dinner. It was a gorgeous evening and we sat outside and ate great food and enjoyed each other. We then went to one of our favorite bars and sat outside and had another drink (or two). We talked about life, jobs, Hunter, family, reminisced about old times and got excited talking about the future. We just always have fun together, usually joking around and making fun of each other!
I am excited to see what the future holds for us. There are bound to be a few more hurdles, that is just life. But I just hope that the good times outweigh the bad, which, how can they not? I have Hunter to snuggle with and love on every day and a guy like Mike by my side. Life is good.
