Last week was Mike's birthday and we had such a great evening! We got a babysitter and headed to Yakima to go check out the new Cabela's. We just got our Concealed Pistol Licenses so of course I wanted to get him a new pistol for his birthday. I wasn't sure what to get, in fact, I had no idea, so I made him close his eyes in Cabela's and I led him to the Firearms section. I said OPEN, and when he did I said, "Pick one!" He was so excited, and for those that know Mike, he doesn't show excitement that often, so it was a big deal! We spent a couple hours in the store and yes, he checked out almost every single gun and loved every minute of it. We then pretty much had to give a blood and urine sample to purchase it and then finally were out the door!
His new pistol, a Springfield Armory XD 9 mm. Oh, and we signed up for Cabela's Club Visa card....ugh...yes, I finally gave in! But look, he got a free hat!
We had an amazing dinner at a restaurant in Yakima that a co-worker recommended. It was delicious! For dessert we had some brownie yumminess and I could only fit the H and B candles for Happy Birthday on it...lol. Notice how excited Mike was to have his picture taken!!! :)
We had a great evening and so much fun! We need to schedule date nights more often! Mike went and shot the pistol the next day and he left me a voicemail at work just laughing - which I took as a good sign and that he loves his new pistol - I was right!
