Happy Birthday Aunt Cammy!

The weekend of Oct. 13 my Mom, Uncle Bob and I managed to throw a surprise birthday party for my Aunt Cammy, who turned 60 on Oct. 15. Uncle Bob and I had a code and everything. Mike's birthday is on the 17th, so I would pretend to be talking to Uncle Bob about buying binoculars for Mike as a gift, but I wasn't!! Tee hee, little did she know we were confirming party details!

Friday night Mike and I loaded up Hunter and the girl's and headed to Puyallup. We then got up and out the door by 5 a.m. Saturday morning to be at the Hickman house around 9ish to set everything up.

Guest sign-in table
We gathered and printed out pictures from the last 60 years...

I stenciled out the letters and Mike painted the 35 feet of butcher paper. What a guy!

Sssssshhh....here she comes! Mom, my family and brother's family were all on the porch!

Just getting back from their Coast Guard meeting. SURPRISE!

We gave Aunt Cammy about an hour to absorb what was happening and time to change...lol. Then the guests started coming!
Bringing gifts and signing the welcome "book"

Of course the men were "manning" the BBQ! Hunter was supervising.
Mom, such a great hostess!
Awe, she has some pretty cute kids!! :)

Time for the cake!!! Uncle Bob made sure I didn't put the "6" upside down...lol.
Yes, I made her stand next to the cake for a picture!
Happy Birthday to you....
Sadly the puppies got stuck outside, but they came in after everyone left, I promise!
There is a big family joke about their house being the "Hickman Estates" - It is kind of a long one, but needless to say her siblings got her a fancy new robe with the "official" Hickman Estates emblem!
She thought it was pretty funny!!

Of course I have to include something about Hunter. I know...sorry! But it was a big deal, his first pancake! Mike event made a little one for him. Awe!
Hesitation...

He ended up liking them, especially when Grandma Chris fed them to him!

So Mike's birthday was only a few days later, so we put a candle in his pancake and sang him Happy Birthday too!! Hunter clapped, so stinkin' adorable!!
Pit stop on the way home, Hunter was showing Mike how it's done!
We had such a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed throwing a party for my aunt. She is an amazing lady and makes 60 look pretty damn good! My mom and I always have fun hosting and putting on events, and I think this one we knocked it out of the park! Oh, and thanks Uncle Bob for everything and getting her out of the house! Job well done!
