Last week and this week I am home with Hunter. His school is closed for 2 weeks before fall quarter starts and I don't have any other childcare. So I thought it would be fun to go visit some family, especially those that haven't met Hunter yet!
First stop was my mom's house in Portland. We had a wonderful weekend! We went shopping and I got all sorts of cute outfits and a new purse! We also went to PF Changs, which I love, and also one of mom's favorite restuarants, Hall Street Grill. I had the best eggs benedict in my life! I am not joking, I savored every bite. They were made on crab cakes! OMG! My mouth is watering as we speak! Anyhoo, we had so much fun!
We went for a short walk at the nature trail just around the corner from her house.
Nature! An owl!
The last evening we sat out on mom's patio and had an amazing meal! She got some serious Grandma time in!!
My birthday was the next week, so she got me red velvet cake cupcakes...DELISH! P.S. I had to share one with mom.
On Monday we ventured off to Brownsville to visit my friend Libby, who I hadn't seen in forever! We went for a walk around town (remember the cupcakes, eggs benedict, etc.???). We stopped at a park to let the kids play. Hunter loved the swing!!!
Those are Libby's girls, Amelia and Evelyn. Precious little girls!
Miss Evelyn, she is 3.
They have a beautiful yard and Libby and I spent a lot of time out there with the kids, soaking up the sun and catching up. It was great!
Amelia and Hunter were fast friends! She is about 3 months older then Hunter.
That evening my Aunt Patti came over for dinner. Brian and Libby cooked salmon, steak, potatoes and a yummy corn salad! It was sooo good! Have you seen a theme here??...I only go where there is good food!
Patti hadn't met Hunter yet and ate him up!! It was so fun having her there!
Lol...I am pretty sure she almost squeezed him to death! HA!
Playing in our jammies.
On Tuesday Libby and I loaded up the kids and went south. Mike's grandparents live in Sutherlin and Libby's dad lives just about 45 min past there. So she dropped Hunter and I off and went on to spend the afternoon with her dad. It was so fun being able to get some great visiting time in on the road!
Grandpa Leo and Rose hadn't met Hunter yet, so it was great for him to see his Great-Grandparents! He would just stare at Leo, it was funny!
Hugs for Great-Grandpa!
Toni came over from Myrtle Point for the afternoon, which was great!
Just checking things out with Great-Grandma Rose!
Sittin' on the stoop with Great-Grandpa, waiting for Libby.
Back in Brownsville that evening and back outside! It was gorgeous the whole time we were there!
I had to include a picture of Ally, their dog. She is a german shorthair pointer, like Lacey. She reminded me so much of Lacey it was crazy!!!
Wednesday morning we walked to a cute little cafe and had breakfast and coffee outside.
I told Evelyn to pose for the camera...lol...Love it!
Finally pictures of Libby and I! I guess when you have kids you forget to take pics of yourself!?!? I never thought I would say that!
She is just precious! Only 8 weeks old! I guess everyone says she looks like Chris, and I agree in pictures, but in person I see a ton of Leslie! Oh, and she is kind of stubborn, any guesses on who she gets that from??? Yup, her Aunt Mindy!! HE HE! :)
Hunter is so close to crawling, and we had a few close calls and Leslie's house! Watch and see....
C'mon, you knew if our kids were together there would be at least one Boise State photo of some kind!! ADORABLE!
Miss Emma, she is so tiny. I can't believe Hunter was ever that small, I know, so cliche to say, but it is true! He was probably even smaller than her. On an exciting note, Leslie as me to be the Honorary Godmother. I was so touched and it is such an honor!!
The new momma, lookin' great!
It was a quick stay in Bend, but we had a great time, as always!! Thursday morning we were off to Prineville to visit many members of Mike's family. They all met at one house, which was nice for us. It had been almost a year since we had been down, so it was great to see most everyone and catch up!
Cousin Brook!
Cousin Shawna!
Aunt Diane, Tom's sister.
Cousin Michelle!
Playing with cousin Luke, Shawna's son.
All the kids! (L-R) Mallory and Luke (Shawna's), Tatum (Michelle's), Hunter, Parker (Shawna's) and Malloy (Michelle's).
Love this picture!! Thanks Shawna for taking all of them and sending them to me!!
After snacking on some pizza, catching up and a few feedings and diaper changes, it was time for us to head home. It was a long week, but it went by fast and we had a great time seeing everyone! Hunter did great and I was so happy to have the time to drive around and see everyone before the dreaded snow comes!! I am thinking this should be a yearly trip!!
Looks like an extremely full and eventful trip! Glad you had a good time and Hunter was such a trooper for you!
