Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Friday was Hunter's 2nd birthday, I can't believe he is already 2?!?! Since he was born at 4:43 a.m. I was having mommy-moments all day on Thursday. For example, "Oh, 2 years ago right now I was admitted into the hospital." or "Awe, right about now is when my water broke." Ok, I am starting to tear up again just talking about it! Lol. I did get up at 4:43 a.m. to give him his birthday kiss though!

We picked him up early from school and played around before going to McDonalds to get his favorite, a cheeseburger happy meal, of course. Even though he was having a party Saturday (which didn't happen, you will read about that here in a minute) we wanted to make sure he had a piece of cake and some candles to blow out on his actual birthday!
Still trying to blow out the candles...ha!
 Happy boy!
Ok, in this video (and the one below) I ask him a million times to say how old he is, I am sure it gets annoying, but it is SOOO cute when he does say it! -he never did though...ugh...
I think this photo sums it up. P.S. He didn't eat that huge slice, we cut him off a smaller section...lol. I am sure he would have managed to do it if I would have let him!
So he was suppose to have an Elmo-themed party the next day and I spent 3 HOURS Friday evening making and decorating his cake from SCRATCH! I made the icing and everything! Also, it was the first week of Grad School and I was up every night this week until midnight doing homework. Add in a stressful week at work and I was pooped by Friday night, but I was determined to make my son an Elmo cake. I think it is pretty good for an amateur, eh? :) Well, turns out we had to cancel the party. Much of my family couldn't come because a huge snow storm came through and we had a few friends cancel Saturday morning because their kids were sick. Also, Hunter work up with a cough that just got worse throughout the day, so it turned out to be best that we cancelled. We will do it again this spring when everyone is healthy and can travel safely! By the way, I froze this cake, and I don't care if it is covered in freezer burn, we are eating the damn thing this spring!!!! I put too much time into it to throw it away!! LOL
Since he wasn't having a party we opened a few presents that he had gotten in the mail this week. The first one was an adorable Bronco from my friend Leslie. Grandma Toni got him an awesome trike that will be here in a couple of weeks, Uncle Bob and Aunt Cammy sent a great birthday card that had a little something special in it and neighbor Karen stopped by with a gift card! He is spoiled! And this isn't even the presents he would have gotten from everyone if we would have had the party!

He loves opening presents now, Lacey and Pickle are huge helpers too!
 My lil' Bronco!
Video of him opening his present from Mommy and Daddy. Leslie - I want to apologize ahead of time.
Have I mentioned how "fun" it is to have to put together presents now that I am a Mom? Finished product. He LOVES his new Elmo train set! Choo Choo
We will reschedule Hunter's party for sometime this spring. Thanks to everyone for the gifts and well wishes! I think he had a pretty good birthday!
