Last weekend we all went over to Puyallup to visit my family and for Ken's 2nd birthday. It was a gorgeous weekend and we had a lot of fun!
When we first got there everyone was dying to see Hunter. Can you blame them?!? Such a cute picture, Grandma with her babies.
Such a great montage of pictures! |
The kiddos love the puppies.
*sorry it is blurry
So Steven and Cara got Ken a toddler a.k.a. big boy bed for his birthday. I had to document Steven reading the directions and assembling it. The funny part, after he got it all put together, using the directions mind you! - it was wrong and he had to take it all apart and start over...I am still laughing over that!
Party time!!!
Birthday boy!
We had a nice group of people and it was a gorgeous day, so we all hung out outside.
I think Hunter is ready for solids, he kept drooling all over my food...HA!
Look at Steven...lol..."Uhh...how does this work?" If I didn't have my brother, I am not sure who I would make fun of!! Another reason everyone needs a sibling!!!
Sweet Sophia.
Hunter chillin poolside.
Pinata time!!! Sophia and Ken made it.
"C'mon somebody, hit it so I can get some candy!"
"I got my bag ready!!"
Steven thought it would be fun to pick Cara up and throw her in the pool.....uh....I am pretty sure there is one person that didn't think this was funny. :)
The cake! Cara baked it and our cousin Thea decorated it. A 3-D train, of course. Didn't they do a great job!!
Make a wish!
Awe, love them!
Present time!
Sophia got Ken a Thomas the Train pillow...he was amped!
Awe, giving sissy a hug and saying thanks!
More presents and hugs!
Thanks for the present cousin Brook!
Mom, Mike, Hunter and I all went in on a Cars tent and sleeping bag. He was pretty excited.
Here comes the big boy bed!
Me and my mom. :)
Mike and Hunter hanging out. Don't you just love how Mike always smiles for the camera! I told him I wouldn't post this picture, that I just wanted a Father/Son pic. Don't tell him! Oh, and please note he is drinking my favorite Rogue beer and I am having a Root Beer.....ugh.
Thea reading to Mr. Hunter! She sure loved playing with him!
The next day we had a lazy Sunday morning. Sitting around, drinking coffee and getting some great visiting time in. We were all pretty tired from the festivities the day before!
The card we got for him was a big hit, Spongebob Squarepants singing Happy Birthday. The kids kept opening and closing it all weekend to hear him sing...I will give you one guess at how many times it took to be super annoying!! LOL. Oh, and Ken loves his hat we got him for Christmas...so stinkin' cute!
Hunter crashed out!
That afternoon we went to visit our friends Jake and Elizabeth just south of Puyallup in Shelton. They just had their second daughter, Adalynn Jane Groves. She was so precious and I loved holding her. Hard to remember Hunter being that small....makes me sad that he is growing up so fast!! It was nice to spend a couple of hours with them before heading home.
We came home Sunday night, so it was nice to have Monday to just relax and catch up on a few things. All in all it was a great weekend. Beautiful weather, visiting with friends and family, oh, and birthday cake too!! :) What a great Memorial Weekend!
