Amazing artists hits up Central!

On Monday an amazing artist visited campus, David Garibaldi. I had been working on his event for a while, so it was really great to meet him. I worked with his wife (and manager) to set up quite a few interviews for our local media, so it was neat to meet her too! He came into our office to do a podcast with one of my students after he visited the radio station on campus.

During his show he creates amazing 6-foot portraits to music in minutes. Here is his website, where you can check out some more information about him, www.garibaldiarts.com. He has a few links to his Twitter and Facebook pages where he posted all sorts of things about his trip to CWU. I think he had a great time!

Me and David.
Doing a podcast with my student, Amber. We will hopefully have it posted on our website soon. www.cwu.edu/~campuslife.
Signing some posters that were made in our office.
Check out these videos from his show at CWU. It was a sold out crowd, about 900 people, and they even had to turn people away! Be sure you turn up your sound!

Can you guess who he is painting in this one?

This one is my favorite!

It is really fun to have a job where I get to do the marketing/pr for some of these really neat events! It is always something fun and different! And then to be able to go to the show and meet these amazing entertainers is awesome! If he ever comes to your area, be sure to check him out!

  1. That is pretty cool! I bet it's even better live. Blank canvas + 7 mins of music + paint = Einstein?? Wow. And upside down at that!
